Each colored or white square in the pic above represents one of the following dimension sets required by the two most popular mobile app marketplaces, starting with the smallest (that dark red-orange square in the center):
- 22px x 22px (Android)
- 24px x 24px (Android)
- 30 px x 30px (Android)
- 32 px x 32px (Android)
- 44 px x 44px (Android)
- 48gpx x 48px (Android)
- 57px x 57px (Apple)
- 72 px x 72 px (Android & Apple)
- 114px x 114px (Apple)
- 144px x 144px (Apple)
- 1024px x 1024px (Apple)
It's pretty simple, because they're all squares. Just create your icon image in 1024x1024 and remember to constrain your proportions when shrinking to the 10 other required size formats.
